YDSA Northern Forum – November Report
Published: 02 November 2023
Thursday 2nd November saw the YDSA Northern Forum take place at the Rolt Centre of the National Waterways Museum, Ellesmere Port.
The day was a great success and the topics covered certainly provoked a great deal of discussion amongst the delegates. The focus of the event was Small craft LPG systems and ventilation - what a surveyor needs to know about LPG systems and ventilation requirements.
Accredited Member Justin Green, J G Marine Services, provided a very interesting presentation around the principles of small craft LPG system requirements and, regulation around small craft LPG systems with the aid of a test rig to demonstrate good and bad practice.
The afternoon included a workshop lead by Justin Green and aided by Charles King, Monarch Marine, on small craft ventilation requirements. Delegates were given some hands on measurement of fixed ventilation and then worked examples of fixed ventilation requirement case studies.
The next YDSA Northern Forum will be on Thursday 7th March 2024. This will mark the 21st anniversary of the founding of the Northern Forum.
