About YDSA

The Yacht Designers & Surveyors Association (YDSA) is the UK-based professional association for surveyors and designers and is a world-renowned organisation for marine expertise.

Our Qualified Experienced Professionals have been setting the standards in the designing and surveying of yachts since 1912 and the YDSA’s worldwide network of independent specialists can be relied upon for their technical authority and professional integrity.

YDSA is authorised by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) to do both coding and tonnage measurements for under 24m vessels.  Check in the list of members to find out if there is a surveyor near you and what services they are able to offer.  All our members are listed so if the surveyor you are seeking isn't listed, he or she isn't a member.

YDSA is the sister organisation to the Association of Brokers and Yacht Agents (ABYA) - sharing a secretariat under YBD&SA Holdings Ltd which is based in Petersfield, Hampshire, UK.  Although each organisation is independent, it is beneficial to share information from time to time on changes within the industry, whether they relate to materials, legal or VAT issues, etc.
