Winter Webinar Series Is Off To A Hit! With 2 More To Go These Are Not To Be Missed!
Published: 23 November 20
The first 2 Webinars in the YBDSA’s series of Winter Webinars has taken off with very positive feedback from respondents of the Hull Wrapping Webinar & Electric Propulsion. Next up in the series we have Working Together on the 1st Dec and Brexit on the 15th – Don’t miss these!
In our other upcoming sessions we will also be covering how the industry can move forward and encourage Working Together by utilising the full scope of the industries within the association’s membership in a way that will be beneficial for all involved.
It’s been a very different and difficult year, so to make the load a lighter and aid development for everyone this Webinar looks to explain the requirements of a pre-purchase survey as well as the effects of loose report writing on insurances and potential claims. Also to appreciate how a poor report can make a sale fall through with a look into how the end client would feel in being stuck between a Surveyor report and Brokerage detail of the vessel. Working Together is the next in the series and will be on the 1st Dec
And if you’re wondering what Brexit will mean for you, your boat and VAT then join us for our Brexit Winter Webinar on 15th Dec where we discuss how the end of the transition period will affect you and what your options are for avoiding any additional charges that could occur. The Keynote speaker for the Brexit webinar will be Ross Wombwell, Technical Director at British Marine who will guide the talk on what to expect form the end of the transition period on the 31st December 2021.
All of the upcoming Winter Webinars end the session with an open Q&A so that members are able to discuss the topic both with the keynote speaker and with each other in a way that’s “easy to engage with” so that we can ensure that you are able to get the most from your training session.
The first Webinar discussed the wonders and unlimited possibilities of Hull Wrapping and what you as a Broker, Surveyor and Designer should be looking for when dealing with a vessel that’s been Hull Wrapped or simply if you’re looking to Wrap a vessel after purchase to spice it up. If you missed this Webinar then we will have recording's available for you through the ABYA & YDSA Academy Portals, after the final Webinar on Brexit has been aired on the 15th.
With the second webinar covered Electric Propulsion, which was presented by our speaker for the event Keith Meadowcroft, Director of Volt Master Systems who discussed ‘How to inspect electric boats of various complexities where electric power is a secondary propulsion option through to fully electric vessels’.
As for the information presented in the Hull Wrapping webinar, members found it to be beneficial as one member was previously asked about Vinyl Wraps but he now feels more confident on the topic allowing him to provide his clients with a “better understanding of how they work and the possible pitfalls”
The members who attended the online event’s found it “very enjoyable” to be completing training from the comfort of their home with one member mentioning that he “enjoyed the Electric Propulsion webinar” so much that he stayed for both sessions! With another member citing that he had attended another Broker Conference online earlier in the year and found it to be very good in general.
