Design and Build
The Maxi 1050 is a highly regarded performance cruiser with a high level of crafmanship as you would expect from a Swedish boat yard. Designed by Pelle Petterson, the Maxi 1050 has a sleek hull shape and modern sail plan, it excels in upwind sailing and provides a top class sailing experience. With an open cockpit, wide swim platform and spacious interior, she is equally at home doing short coastal hops on a summer cruise. The interior is finished to high standard with solid teak joinery throughout, she has a open feel of a much larger yacht and plenty of space for at least 4 persons. She is a real sailor’s yacht with all lines led back to the cockpit for ease of control, and a huge wheel giving great visibility when underway.
Ownership and upgrading
Freya has been under her current ownership for 7 years and presents very well indeed. The standing and running rigging was replaced in 2022, the sail drive seal replaced in 2020, electronics have been updated, batteries renewed and a new main sail in 2024. She really is in turn key condition and ready for a the season ahead.
Viewing arrangements
Currently on her summer cruise in Falmouth, this Maxi 1050 is due to return to her home berth in Dartmouth in July 2026.
